My new Composition Mastery Workshop on DVD is now available. Over one year in the making it focuses on composition through the study of the 29 separate steps that I follow to create my fine art landscape photographs.
In this workshop on DVD, instead of approaching composition the "traditional" way, which is to focus on the rules of composition (the golden rule, the rule of thirds, etc.) I approach composition as being everything that affects the contents of your photographs.
In this context I look at the palette that you select, the light you prefer, the contrast level you find most attractive, your choice of color, black and white or color monochrome, your knowledge of natural events and natural light, your favorite lenses and equipment, your research of specific locations and much more (You can see the complete list at

Das Museum ist eine Bilddatenbank mit vom Verschwinden bedrohter Architektur im weitesten Sinne. Vom Bunker bis zum Wasserturm ist eine umfangreichee Sammlung von Bildern vorhanden. Das zuendegegangene Industriezeitalter hat eine Unmenge von verlassenen Architekturen hinterlassen, die im oeffentlichen Bewußtsein nur wenig Beachtung finden. Alte Fabrikations- anlagen, Wassertuerme, Bruecken oder Militaerobjekte fristen weiterhin Ihr Dasein. Deren eigentuemliche Faszination ist der Ausgangspunkt fuer die bildnerische Auseinandersetzung mit diesen Orten, sei es als Dokumentation oder Inszenierung. Verbunden mit topografischen und Hintergrundinformationen, bilden Sie den Kern dieser Sammlung. Ziel des Projektes war es, Dead Places weltweit zu sammeln und als Bild-Text-Geo-Information zu speichern und fuer Reflexion und Recherche zur Verfuegung zu stellen. Durch die interaktive Einbindung von Informationen verschiedener Autoren wurde das Museum zu einem anerkannten Ausgangspunkt fuer themenbezogene Kommunikation und Forschung. Zielgruppe sind semiprofessionelle und professionelle Bildarbeiter, Historiker, Architekten und Archaeologen.
