Linwood Road Studio is located at The Historic Harris House, built in 1884 and listed on both the National and State Registries of Historic Homes. There is a 5000 square foot main house boasting 14 distinct rooms with a grand entryway and majestic staircase, and many more photographic possibilities. The eight-foot windows and doorways, all with the original transoms, flood the house with natural light and provide for stunning color or black and white imagery. Subjects can choose between a multitude of traditional color backdrops, or to be photographed in many unique settings including the two southern plantation style porches. Beautiful handcrafted walnut, mahogany, oak and cherry woodwork accent the house s library and parlor, while antique fixtures, furniture and three fireplaces, provide an elegant, refined setting for your portraiture needs. Additionally, the estate situated on 11 pastoral acres provides endless possibilities for location shoots. The landscape is pocketed with various varieties of indigenous trees and foliage. Growing up in his southeast Kansas business, I learned sound business practices and acquired the knowledge and skill to nurture my ability to create unique photographic images. I have been gifted with my father s eye, and the creative ability to capture the world through the lens. I believe the skills of a photographic artist are not so much learned as they are a gift; and from this my inspiration is derived. I strive to take an extra step to ensure every client s investment is rewarded with my finest work, but the most important ingredient in my portraiture is human emotion. If someone can view an image I have created, and in it feel an emotional connection, then I have succeeded in my endeavor. Time stands still for no man, but we can preserve precious moments and memories for a lifetime of reflection. I can think of no other occupation as satisfying to the soul.
