Schottland im Winter 2011
von Als wir unsere Reisepläne für den Februar bekannt gaben, ernteten wir erst einmal nur ein Kopfschütteln: Wie kann man um diese Jahreszeit nach Schottland fahren? Auch wir wussten nicht genau was uns an Wetter und Temperaturen erwarten würde, doch wir wollten das Experiment wagen. Wir packten unsere warmen Sachen ein und los ging´s. Eine Woche vor unserer Abfahrt bestellten wir noch für Jürgen die gleiche Regenhose, wie ich sie mir schon vor zwei Jahren kaufte. Im Internet unterschieden sich die Kritiken über andere Regenhosen im gleichen Preissegment sehr stark. Zumindest hatte meine Hose schon eine Wanderung bei Regen in Schottland zu meiner Zufriedenheit überstanden.
Diesmal sollte es nicht mit dem Flugzeug nach Schottland gehen, sondern mit der Fähre und mit dem eigenen Wagen. Mit dem Flugzeug würden wir einen ganzen Tag verlieren. Eine weitere Neuerung für uns war, dass wir zum ersten Mal ein Ferienhaus gemietet haben, weil es um diese Jahreszeit wesentlich weniger geöffnete B&B gibt. Eine mögliche Alternative wären noch Hotels gewessen, welche Spezialpreise anbieten die deutlich unter dem üblichen Niveau liegen.
