This web site is about my passion for travel and nature photography. The aim is sharing this passion and my photography. I try to document photographically the wildest areas of the Earth. My photographs focus on wildlife, both with its tender and cruel sides, on wild places and on abstractions of the natural world, always trying to capture the essence of the wild. I received several awards for my photos at contests such as the Oasis International Photo Concurs and Antibes Underwater Festival.

Franco Chiossi - Underwater and Travel Photography - Ronciglione ITALY

A picture gallery featuring undersea life and world travel. It is quite unusual to enter a dentist s surgery and feel in a sort of photographic gallery, with fishes of all kinds overlooking you from the surgery walls, after a first welcome given to you by the pleasant sight of an aquarium placed in the entrance hall. That is the setting of Franco Chiossi s workplace, an indication that his medical profession cannot keep him entirely away from his special interest in underwater photography. On the other hand, the people of his hometown Ronciglione, a lovely medieval resort between Rome and Viterbo, seem to appreciate his wish to offer them relaxing images of peaceful underwater scenes while attending the surgery. The pictures shown on this site make up a selection of what Franco Chiossi has been photographing in recent months, including a section dedicated to the cities and places he has been visiting while searching for suitable underwater settings. Apart from the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, Franco Chiossi s search for stimulating underwater settings has taken him to plunge into the waters of various areas of the world: - in the Caribbean Sea: the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Cuba, the Cayman Islands; - in Florida, U.S.A.; - in the Indian Ocean: Kenya, Maldive Islands, the Seychelles and Mauritius; - in the Pacific Ocean: Malaysia, at Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai and Layang Layang; the Philippines, at Cebu, Bohol, Negros; Indonesia, at Kalimantan Derawan, Maratua, Kakaban, Sangalaki , at Sulawesi Manado, Lembeth, Walea, Makassar , Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Komodo and Flores.
