Shawn Hamilton MacIntosh was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1961. Moving to Ontario in 1973 growing up primarily in Prince Edward County, Shawn attended The University of Toronto where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Computer Science. Shawn pursued a computer data base management career in the advertising industry but her passion for horses and photography grew increasingly stronger and in 1984 CLiX Photography was created. In 1986 Shawn s work appeared on the cover of The Corinthian Horse Sport magazine and The Canadian Horsemen. This would be the same year she married her husband Joseph Hamilton. With the birth of their first daughter, Nicola, in 1989, Shawn did not return to advertising but steered her energy into raising a family and continuing CLiX. With a deep passion for horses, having ridden since she was 7 years old, Shawn continued to ride and found herself more and more involved in the equestrian world. In 1990 Shawn covered her first international event at the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, which then led to the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona followed by the next three Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, Sydney, Australia in 2000 and Athens, Greece in 2004. Shawn s work appears regularly in magazines across North America including Horse Illustrated, Horses USA, Equestrian Retailer, Equus, Practical Horsemen, Dressage Today, The Perfect Horse, The Trail Rider and countless more. Shawn has four non fiction children s books published by Scholastic Canada titled Crazy For Horses , Still Crazy For Horses , Crazy For Ponies and Totally Crazy for Horses author Karen Briggs as well as the 2004 & 2005 Hallmark horse calendars. Her favourite equestrian sport to shoot is the cross country portion of the Three Day event and her favourite subject to photograph is always horses running free.

Keith Logan Nature Photography - Alberta Canada
Welcome! One of the magical things about nature photographs is that they are not contrived nor are they the product of the artist s imagination. The subject matter of a nature photograph is indeed part of the public domain. And yet the nature photographer who wishes to reveal something of this vast public domain finds it more often than not very elusive. The land does not seem willing to yield its secrets as readily as one might suppose. All of us have marveled, at one time or another, at the scene of a striking sunset or a magnificent mountain landscape. Often, photographs of these produce disappointing results. The demand for nature photography is to somehow translate the feeling that one receives from such special moments onto film. The scene that is photographed must contain special light, pattern, color or texture and then in turn be carefully edited if it is to produce an impact on the viewer. When I am able to do this I see my photographs as symbols of a larger whole. The subject is metaphysically given a life of its own long after the flowers have faded and the snow has melted. These photographs are benchmarks for the seasons that were and reminders of what is yet to come. Keith s photographs have been exhibited throughout North America in Art Galleries and Natural Science Museums and his photographs have been included in numerous publications.
