Shawn Hamilton MacIntosh was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1961. Moving to Ontario in 1973 growing up primarily in Prince Edward County, Shawn attended The University of Toronto where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Computer Science. Shawn pursued a computer data base management career in the advertising industry but her passion for horses and photography grew increasingly stronger and in 1984 CLiX Photography was created. In 1986 Shawn s work appeared on the cover of The Corinthian Horse Sport magazine and The Canadian Horsemen. This would be the same year she married her husband Joseph Hamilton. With the birth of their first daughter, Nicola, in 1989, Shawn did not return to advertising but steered her energy into raising a family and continuing CLiX. With a deep passion for horses, having ridden since she was 7 years old, Shawn continued to ride and found herself more and more involved in the equestrian world. In 1990 Shawn covered her first international event at the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, which then led to the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona followed by the next three Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, Sydney, Australia in 2000 and Athens, Greece in 2004. Shawn s work appears regularly in magazines across North America including Horse Illustrated, Horses USA, Equestrian Retailer, Equus, Practical Horsemen, Dressage Today, The Perfect Horse, The Trail Rider and countless more.
