Johan W. Elzenga, Nature and wildlife photography, Denmark

Elzenga is a freelance photographer and the chief editor of two Dutch photography magazines. He also writes stories and makes photographs for a number of other magazines all over the world. His article Why zebras are striped was published in five languages and six countries and it seems that even the famous Desmond Morris was inspired by it. Morris book Animal Watching was published more than one year after Johan s article was first published in the UK World Magazine, October 1989 and it contains a chapter Why zebras are striped in which he uses a remarkably similar approach in trying to answer this question. Johan is the author of the first Dutch book about the camera RAW format; published in July 2006. In May 2007 his second book Adobe Photoshop Lightroom was published. In November 2007 his Photoshop Layers book was be published, as well as the revised edition of RAW . Three more books Lightroom 2, Aperture 2, HDR are scheduled for the summer of 2008. Johan has published numerous tutorials and workshops about Photoshop in various magazines. Some of those tutorials are now also on this site, and new tutorials will be added frequently. Quality photos of Scandinavian and North American birds by Danish Nature Photographer Helge Sorensen. Jeg er f dt i 1966 og er bosiddende i Danmark. Jeg har kigget p fugle stort set hele mit liv. De sidste 25 r har jeg haft spejlrefleks-kamera med p fugleturene. De fleste af billederne fra de f rste mange r, fungerer prim rt som personlige minder om dejlige fugleture. I 2004 skiftede jeg til digital, og fotograferer i dag udelukkende med digitalt spejlrefleks-udstyr. Jeg er fritids-naturfotograf, og n r jeg ikke er sammen med min kone og to dejlige b rn, tr ffes jeg oftest i naturen. Mit professionelle job er i den finansielle sektor og jeg er uddannet Cand. Merc. i finansiering. Jeg har boet adskillige r i Mexico og USA, og har derfor ogs en del fuglebilleder fra disse lande i mine fotoarkiver. Mine motiver begr nser sig til fuglene, samt de enkelte st rre dyr jeg st der p . Is r rovfugle og ugler finder jeg meget fascinerende. Jeg ser fuglefotografering som en m de at dokumentere fuglenes liv, i h jere grad end en kunstform, hvor en smukt belyst fugl skal forankre omgivelserne. Derfor fors ger jeg med mine fotos, at vise fugles adf rd og specielt str ber jeg efter action fotos.
