Adrian de Kock - Award Winning South African Photographer

Adrian was born in Pretoria, South Africa. He matriculated at Grey College in Bloemfontein where sport was his main attraction being the top sporting school in the country. After matriculating he became a swimming coach for Monica s Swim School. Teaching young children the importance of water safety and style correction. The following year he started studing at the Open Window Art Academy. During his second year he got the privilege of working at the local newspaper namely Pretoria News as a Graphic Designer. Through hard work he has managed to write stories and take photographs for the newspaper. The main objective of his work was to colour correct the front page photographs of the newspaper. He has over a hundred illustrations and graphics published in the Pretoria News. During his leave period he was hired through Pierre Tostee Association of Surfing Professional Photographer as assistant photographer for the Mr. Price Pro and the Billabong Pro. He s main challenge for these events was to capture the lifestyle of the event. Many of his photographs were used as posters to advertise the top South African band Tree63 sponsored by Mr. Price. Adrian was the Official photograph for the first female rugby game in South Africa. His photographs appeared in Loftus Magazine as well as World Rugby s Birthday Edition. As a sport lover Adrian focuses mostly on sport photography which has got him touring Australia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and most of South Africa.
