John Willis PHOTOGRAPHY - Dummerston Vermont

John Willis PHOTOGRAPHY - Dummerston Vermont

Since receiving his MFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design in 1986 John Willis has taught photography at institutions ... Photography provides me with a visual tool for exploration and communication. The ways we communicate with each other and the world around us have always been major points of interest and contention throughout my life in addition to photography I have studied psychology and education . Because I choose to represent my observations about the world in images rather than in written essays, I have used photography in a variety of ways. Not only do I make my own images, but I help others make their own as well. I have spent much of my life teaching photography in diverse settings. I have taught all age groups, from first-graders to nursing-home residents. I am currently the full-time photography professor at Marlboro College, and I am the co-founder of The In-Sight Photography Project, a non-profit program that teaches photography to adolescents regardless of their ability to pay.

Krueger Photography -- City Shadows Gallery - Huntsville, Alabama USA

An exhibit of black and white artistic photography by David Krueger with everything from cityscapes to sensual fine art. I love black and white photography. I love to view the work of others and upon seeing an exceptional image, I feel a wave of excitement course through me no different from what classical music lovers probably feel at the sound of the symphonies of Beethoven or Mozart. While I may never be listed among the world s most revered photographers, I love that I have the wonderful opportunity to participate with those other great artisans of the silver image and share their approach to expression through that unique medium.

Landscapes are living eco systems and environments. They have existed well before, and will hopefully be here way beyond the time we are here. When taking photographs, time and space seem hard for me to measure. Whenever I shoot a quality image, I know it. At those moments things are quiet, seem simple again and I obtain a respect and reverence for the world that is hard to communicate through words. For me those moments happen when the exterior environment and my interior world combine. Hopefully the images presented on this website help communicate what is visualized during those times. With the exception of the single White Sands image, all photographs presented were shot between March 2005 and today 2008 . My work today is produced using a digital workflow. All darkroom work is performed in a dry digital darkroom. Prints are produced using pigment inks on archival cotton rag paper.

Brandon Allen Photography - Black and White Photographs

Brandon Allen Photography - Black and White Photographs

Medium and Large Format Portraits and Landscapes - Black and white photos by Brandon Allen Photography. work with a number of different cameras and formats. I use a Shen Hao 4x5, Hasselblad 500cm, Mamiya RZ67, a Holga and a Canon 20D. My favorite would have to be large format, I can slow down and take my time, plus the results are beautiful. The camera I use the most would have to be the Hasselblad. I love the 6x6 format and it s smaller size makes it more mobile and more approachable. started out shooting landscapes. I love the great outdoors, camping, and nature s beauty. I have since put a lot of time into portraits. I enjoy the interaction and experience of talking with people in their element and photographing them as they are. I always ask permission before I photograph someone. Even if it s just a slight nod and a consenting gesture. One of the most important elements in a portrait are the eyes. There is a connection between the viewer of photograph and the subject when eye contact is made. Besides occasional weddings and family portraits, I pretty much only shoot black and white film. I like the drama and slight seperation from reality that is found in black and white. I process all my film by hand, then scan it in to a digital darkroom and make any necessary adjustments. Some of my images I ll print in a traditional wet darkroom. I find inpiration and motivation from many different sources: Dead trees. The music of John Prine. The sound of a Harley. Michael Kenna....

I photograph gently to allow the story to unfold in front of, within and beyond me. Capturing the light in these transitory spaces of time reveals the poetry of humanity, integrating elements to provide a heightened human relationship within a solitary moment. Through this alignment, a temporal moment becomes eternal.

Photographic Arts by Dennis M. Bettin - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Photography by Dennis M. Bettin including several portfolios of B&W landscape and fine art nudes and information regarding his photography. Dennis M. Bettin is a photographer artist living and working in Milwaukee area Milwaukee, Wisconsin . The images produced here represent years of fine art shooting and is a small part of the total work I have done. First, I have two college degrees, one in Computer Programming and a second degree in Photography. My main profession is computer programming; this is where I make my money so that I can pay for my photography among other things . Photography is a love of mine. I am not a professional photographer. Instead photography is something I enjoy and love. As I have stated, I have a degree in photography and have attended many photographic workshops Ansel Adams, John Sexton, Ray McSaveney, Howard Bond, Steve Anchell, Greg Gorman, and others . I started shooting at age seven with a Kodak Instamatic 104, mostly family and friends were my subjects. During high school I was introduced to both medium formats and the 4x5 cameras. It did not take long before I grew to dislike printing 35mm negatives. During the my college training I became a very good technical photographer, meaning I could create some excellent, sharp, grain free, gray scale photographs that lacked subjects. It was not until I attended an Owens Valley Photography Workshop featuring Bruce Barnbaum, Ray McSaveney and John Sexton, that I realized that my photographs lacked...
