Richard G. Sandifer is a globe-trotting photographer based in Portland Maine. He is availble for location assignments worldwide. Richard first discovered his passion for photography in 1988. As an art student in northern California, he made weekly photographic sojourns through mountainside vineyards to the rugged, windswept Pacific coast. He quickly developed a style that drew upon the forces of the natural world. After earning a bachelor s degree in fine art, travel played a key role in his photography. Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean Isles set the stage for an emerging portfolio of photographs that incorporated natural light, indigenous culture and historical architecture. The photographs from these trips have been displayed widely in the U.S. and are part of numerous private collections of fine art photography throughout the world.

All of the images are of objects or scenes in their respective natural environments using available natural light with an occasional flash. Many of the images are displayed mostly full framed. In other words, there is little or no cropping done to most of the images. Color enhancement is kept to minimum only to bring out what is natural to the image. These photos, taken over 20 years of travel, attempt to capture the essence of the location, transporting you to a familiar place and giving you the feeling of being there even if you have never been there before.

Picture Perfect - Images by Gordon Kilgore, Sharpsburg, GA
Travel photography is my passion, and this site is my opportunity to share that with you. My sweetheart, now my wife, gave me my first camera during college, about 1957. Since then, I have traveled to all 50 states, 7 continents, the North Pole, and 166 countries. Some I have visited more than once, and all of them have given me memories I will cherish for a lifetime. Above all, I like to travel, seeing and experiencing places much different than home. This curiosity of exploration is akin to the early explorers curiosity of wondering what is out there? Traveling makes me more appreciative of what I have at home and more tolerant of other cultures and religions. For me, photography is simply the captured portion of a journey that is taken home. This record of a place, combined with the sounds, smells, and mind s eye remembrances are the true rewards of travel photography.
