He discovered his passion for photography in 1995 during a study bursary in Spain. Francesco has spent the last ten years photographing places and people in many countries and his travel file is growing. He use a 35 mm camera to take slides or film, in colour and B W. In 2005 he published the book Tuko Pamoja All together a photo book in English and Italian featuring photos taken by a group of 14-16 years olds attending St. John s School in Korogocho, one of the most violent slums in Nairobi Kenya , which has become a symbol of slums all over the world. He is available for photo assignmens worlwide.

In my spare time I am a freelance photographer with a passion for travelling and I have been travelling now for several years. I haven t aimed to place an emphasis on one particular geographical area but I have to say that Asia captured a place in my soul and therefore I have spent a lot of my time travelling there. The oriental culture has offered me a wisdom and knowledge that I cannot put a price upon. Whilst travelling I always try to respect the culture, habits and religions of the places that I visit. Aiming to live to the full the experience of a different culture, seeing and living the place that I am visiting through the eyes of its people. In each place I visit a new lesson is learnt and I take each lesson as a gift that I aim to transfer to my photographs.

I take photos because it is the only way I have to realize my ideas, and as I have so many in my head, I take pictures of everything, ranging from a committed reportage to a simple reflex on a pair of glasses. Each time I push the button, it is like I can make that moment eternal. I am still able to develop and print in black & white by myself and this is the reason why I prefer B N to color: I have the total control on the whole process and therefore on the final result.I began photographing at the age of 21 and I performed about ten photographic exhibitions. Honestly, I may say that my career has a few milestones which helped my passion growing more and more: The day when my brother bought for him.... but it immediately became mine! a reflex camera: finally I had the means . The day when I became part of the photographic club Immagine in Rome: finally I could let my ideas communicate with the means . Time spent with my friends Mauro and Mimmo, moments full of Jazz, bier and photography. The day I finished my workshop by Zizola: I understood that people do not bite you and taking photos of them is wonderful ! Finally, the day I met Daniela, who more than everyone else gave me and still gives me every day a renewed energy to carry on with this adventure
