Completely self-taught, Tom exposed his first roll of film at age 13. He passionately photographed wildlife before turning his hand to sports photography. Tom’s photographic ability was recognized by Australia’s leading sports photography agency, Sport the Library, and he was hired as their sole staff photographer in 1998. With the Library being the official photographers to the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Tom was instrumental in the Library’s coverage of the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Paralympics. But Tom’s real passion lied in his panoramic landscape photography which he has pursued fully since 2002. He has quickly made a name for himself in landscape photography. In his first entry to the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) Awards in 2003, Tom won an impressive four Silver Awards. Since then, he has won many Gold and Silver Awards in the National and State Finals. In 2005 he was the only Australian to be Highly Commended in the world's most prestitgious wildlife photogaphic competition, the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

Welcome to my Online Gallery, my name is Dave Catley and I am a Landscape & Wildlife Photographer living in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. My wife, Maggie, and I operate a Photographic and Digital Imaging business called MADCAT Photography, through which we create and sell Fine Art Prints and related products. Our Goal is to capture the natural beauty of the Western Australian landscape, its flora and fauna, through Photography.
