While Skypeak, the company, is relatively new having been an entity for the last 5 years, the idea has been with me for more than 20 years. That s how long I have been taking pictures that I really thought about before I tripped the shutter release trigger. It all started when I was 16 and bought an old Yashica FX camera in a pawn shop in my hometown of Clarksville, TN. That was 1983, it was summer, I was 16 years old, had good friends, and a car that got 32MPG! Needless to say, I drove a lot and explored the small world I was living in. I took the camera with me often, and took pictures of the rural areas surrounding my hometown. My passion around capturing images continues every day. Nothing brings me more joy than producing an image of an individual, place, or item that makes me and others who view it become undividedly captivated by the composition, color, and theme of the image. This website is the showcase of English wildlife photographer David Courtenay. David has travelled extensively throughout Europe as well as spending more than 7 months in India working with local guides and trackers in search of Bengal Tiger, Asian One horned Rhino and Asian Elephant.
