Rick Baetsen Wildlife & Nature Photography
master at blending creativity with science, Rick Baetsen has spent his life promoting environmental causes through words, photographs, videos, and research. Years of experience working in the northwoods, including Alaska and Michigan s Upper Peninsula, have led him to become an award winning biologist and photographer. What the Michigan native brings to his work is the depth of understanding gained while working as a natural resource biologist and researcher. Rick studied fisheries, wildlife and botany in college. He received a B.A. in Biology in 1975, from Lake Superior State University, where he spent his days walking along the hemlock-lined Tahquamenon River, the shores of Lake Superior, and the deep woods of the Hiawatha National Forest. There he met Bonnie Heuvelhorst, his future spouse. Today they live with their three children, Justin, Ryan, and Amy, near Walloon Lake, in northern lower Michigan. Rick has worked for the U.S. Forest Service, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. His duties have involved research on the wildlife refuges in northern Alaska, fisheries survey work on the State and National Forests of Michigan, and as a management biologist at a federal fish hatchery. In 1977, Rick began mixing his interest in the natural world with his photography skills. His success at publishing his images led him to start Rick Baetsen Nature and Wildlife Photography, in 1993. Rick s photos reflect his love of the wilderness...

Nature Photography Wildlife pictures Landscape fine prints stock by Mark Graf
Artistic nature photography gallery and wildlife pictures stock usage fine art prints landscape photographs online searchable gallery. - From some of the pictures on this site, I suppose you can tell that details interest me. Sometimes strange details, small details, or even the obvious ones. They are discoveries where I say to myself Wow, someone has to see this! I am fortunate to have traveled to some interesting places around the world - Honduras, Gal pagos, Fiji, Ecuador, Dominca, various islands, even Florida! I feel just as fortunate to have discovered a new swamp near where I live, or see a new bird in my yard. Some of my most memorable experiences with wildlife have happened underwater - playing tug-of-war with sea lions, swirling around in a school of thousands of fish, or having a shrimp clean my finger. Learning to scuba dive has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It introduced an entirely new, foreign environment to explore where many creatures are just as curious about you as you are about them. My interest in various subjects changes often, sometimes I am content with a documentary approach to a subject, but more often I am interested in creating an artistic view. I am continually trying to enhance my way of seeing the natural world around me. I feel the need to protect the diminishing environment around me, yet keenly aware of my own impacts upon it, my species impact upon it. This is an ongoing inner conflict I doubt will ever be resolved. I am...

TJ s Images - Photography by Toni Lankerd - Spring Lake, MI
Nature travel and scenic photography - I have lived in southwestern Michigan for most of my life, immigrating to the United States at a young age from the Netherlands. After acquiring my first camera at the age of 12, my interest in photography grew as I did through the years . I purchased my first 35mm SLR a Pentax ME Super in 1981 which I mainly used to record family milestones and vacations. After taking a short course in photography, and with encouragement from the instructor, my interest became more intense. I began focusing my photographic endeavors on scenic and landscape images due, in part, to my love of Nature. My confidence became stronger and pushed me to move on to other subjects in the natural world: macro closeups, flowers, and wildlife. Living along the shores of Lake Michigan provides me with the endless opportunities for nature photography....from the sand dunes to wildflowers and waterfowl. In addition to Nature s creations, I expanded my photographic base to include man-made subjects, such as architecture and one of my personal favorites lighthouses. I have used various film media to record my subjects: slides, B&W, and even infrared film over the last few years. In 2005 I acquired my first digital camera, the Pentax ist-DS...having recently moved up to the Pentax K10D... which has brought about a renewed interest in photography. As a professional , I view photography as an art form. As such, I try to stir the soul of the viewer - whether it be a single...

Decor and Stock Photographs • Marshall, Michigan
Scott Buttrick Photography Decor and Stock Photography... My work is an interplay of light, texture, detail and form. Primarily trained as a large format black and white photographer my landscape photographs are in the tradition of Adams and Weston. Although my passion is still working in black and white, with switch to digital equipment, I now enjoy color work as well. My philosophy is that there must be a reason for color to be in an image for color photographs to be successful. Much is my color work is a blend of black & white and color in the single image
