FOTO FOLKERS

Fotografie van: Natuur, dieren, luchten, bloemen, macro, panorama, portret, zwart wit, nachtopname en algemene fotografie. Mijn naam is Wicher Folkers en mijn grootste hobby is fotografie. Ik ben met fotograferen begonnen nu zo n drie jaar geleden. Ik ben met een Fuji S3000 digitale compact camera begonnen om vervolgens zijn veel grotere broer, de Fuji S9500, aan te schaffen die dicht bij de digitale spiegelreflex camera s zat. Deze camera heb ik ongeveer 4 maanden gehad. Ik besefte toen dat ik eigenlijk niet had wat ik wilde omdat ik nog steeds geen lenzen kon verwisselen. In februari 2006 heb ik uiteindelijk de Nikon D50 aangeschaft. Hiermee kan ik goed uit de voeten en heb er de foto s meegemaakt die op deze site staan.

Frank Nature - photography, nature, orchids...

Our destinations for holidays included amongst others Eiffel in Germany and Vosges, Cevennes and Alpes in France. These were the destinations where my admiration for orchids grew strongly. In my home country The Netherlands some nature reserves were visited yearly to see the plants and their yearly variation in number. My interest in orchids has become serious during the past six years. I have started to realize how much they represented natural places that have become very rare today.

Als de bloemen konden spreken, zouden ze zwijgen. aldus Bertus Aafjes. Bloemen maken ons vaak vrolijk, maar horen ook bij verdriet. Wat voor bloemen je ook mooi vindt, ze zijn het resultaat van een groeiproces van een plant die voort wil bestaan en moet zorgen voor bevruchting. Peter Groenendijk - ANYTHING BUT COMMON

When asked why butterflies? I really don t have a straightforward answer. And yes, as a child I already was chasing butterflies and caterpillars , and over the years I took some pictures of butterflies on holidays, but only just recently I started to photograph them in a more serious way. And to be honest the new fire started more or less by chance when I took some pictures of a common blue anything but common to try out my new digicam. Since then my fascination has been growing rapidly. If anything, butterflies make me realise how fragile we really are: life is a miracle!

With my pictures I like to give you an impression of the astonishment and the admiration I experience outdoors. I am photographing Nature, that s the way natural things are on their own and in balance sort of with each other. Nature is a conglomerate of societies of all kinds of animals and plants living together, also inevitably disturbing each other. That disturbance is part of the system, an occasion for learning and for evolution. Just people have gone too far with disturbing, too far with manipulating nature to which they belong or belonged. That s why I am always trying to avoid human artefacts in my photographs, particular human beings and industrial or urban activities.

Michel Lucas, een gedreven natuurfotograaf. Met mijn fotografie probeer ik de natuur zo mooi mogelijk in beeld te brengen. Ik fotografeer vooral wild, in het bijzonder edelherten, ree n en hazen. Because of his work, David moved from Belgium to the Netherlands in 1999 and now lives in Oisterwijk since 2005. A self-taugt photographer, wildlife photography has become a real passion with a particular interest for birds, mammals and landscapes. Trips to foreign destinations are frequently made but photography close to home is equally challenging because in this way he is able to get to know his subjects really well. He likes to work on the same subject for longer periods to get better results. Examples of these kinds of projects are: Bewick s swans, birds photographed from a floating hide, squirrels, landscape photography of the Kampina reserve and Loonse en Drunense duinen national park and Kalahari wildlife. Non of the images you see on this website have been manipulated beyond the usual whitebalance, contrast- and colourcorrections. The animals you can see are wild animals and have been photographed in their original habitat. Some of the animals have been attracted with food. There are no images of animals in captivity.
