Jeff Barbee - Professional Photographer - Johannesburg, South Africa,
Jeffrey Barbee was born in the mountains of Colorado and brought up in the African country of Malawi and works as a photojournalist out of his studio in Johannesburg, South Africa. Barbee s photographic work on AIDS, education and environmental topics appears regularly in The New York Times, Time Magazine, the Guardian, Smithsonian Magazine, Newsweek, GEO and other newspapers and magazines. He works freelance and feels strongly about the projects that he takes on, preferring to work closely with editors and photo desks as projects unfold. In April, Barbee hung an exhibition about Globalization and its effect on Africa at the Levine Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The chance to exhibit images on the internet and in public spaces is an important part of keeping these issues directly in the public eye. Hopefully in the course of viewing, many more people are made aware of the plight of people living in the developing world, and the choices they are forced to make as part of their day to day existence.

Roger Ballen Photographer - Johannesburg, South Africa
Being the Official Website of Roger Ballen this website provides detailed information on the career of Roger Ballen well-known photographer who resides in Johannesburg South Africa. A selection of images taken over a period of years as well as exhibition details also available. Since the late 1990s Ballen has been working at intensifying this core of his practice. For instance, his often curiously unique subjects now perform with and for him to create images that are in all ways true theatrical partnerships. He has also worked on the environments themselves, responding to drawings on the wall and clusters of objects that become antic sculptural formations as we find an unfathomable blurring of fact and fiction. His most recent work to be published by Phaidon Press in the Spring of 2009 has pushed this further still, often eradicating the human figure altogether to create intense and loaded subjective spaces that produce intense arenas of disease. While the figure is absent, these works feel like part of minds, as if the very spatial architecture of our internal states are mirrored by these ambiguous visual object poems.

Michael Sheehan Photography - Port Elizabeth - South Africa
Being a Port Elizabeth photographer in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, gives me a large amount of subjects of which to take photographs as we are rich in, amongst other things, game parks. As yet, much of my current wildlife photographs were taken in the National parks and private Game farms and Lodges in and around the Eastern Cape. Added to this access to wildlife, I am able to photograph our beautiful beaches and awesome coastlines with our stunning sunrises and sunsets. I have received requests by families for family photographs to be taken in our natural beach settings because of its beauty as well as studio photographs. I have also had an artist request to paint my natural photographs. Port Elizabeth is a host city for the FIFA 2010 World Cup and I have the privilege of being chosen as one of the photographers to have his photographs displayed on the official Nelson Mandela Bay Host City website. The photographs of Port Elizabeth and surrounding towns are displayed in an effort to promote our beautiful area. Proficient in: Portraits, Functions, Wild Life, Sporting Events, Architecture, Still Life, Weddings
