I m a British based photographer and writer living and working in Sussex. I ve been mad about photography since schooldays when I first photographed the school chickens in glorious black and white! Emerging triumphant from the darkroom clutching my very own murky 6 x 4 print I knew I was well and truly hooked. I ve progressed now from chickens although I never pass up an opportunity to snap them, especially leghorns and I photograph everything from millipedes to morris dancers. My inspiration is constantly sparked by the fantastic work of master photographers such as George McCarthy, the late and sadly missed Galen Rowell 1940-2002 and the outstanding floral pictures of Imogen Cunningham 1883-1976 .

Jon Wornham - Isle of Man Photographs in Island Images

My name s Jon Wornham and I work as an Air Traffic Controller at Ronaldsway Airport. I m married to Georgie and we live in Onchan. Before moving to the Isle of Man in 1990 we lived in Ayrshire, Scotland and I worked at Prestwick Airport. I m originally from Hertfordshire, England and Georgie from Rutherglen, Scotland. I first produced an IOM site back in January 1998, really just as an experiment to see if I could put a simple website together. When I started receiving emails from around the world I realized that there was a lot of interest in pictures of my adopted homeland. Initially it was intended to be an illustrated guide to the Isle of Man, but things have changed a bit over the years. Indeed things have now come full circle and as a result of Island Images some of my pictures appear in a printed guidebook to the Isle of Man, published by Landmark. Since those early days it has grown massively and it s now a photographic site for some of my Isle of Man pictures. The camera equipment I use has improved hugely since the early days enabling me to post larger and better quality pictures. The picture on the left was one of the first on the site and is in its original size. Taken using the Fuji DS7 camera, this really was the full size of picture that the camera took!
