Alaska Photographics and Imaging offers Fine Art signed and numbered photographs reflecting the wild essence of Alaska. Most people associate northern lights with the higher latitudes in Alaska, Canada, and Scandinavia. Few people would consider Juneau, Alaska to be an aurora hotspot. This photo disproves such an idea. Professionally, I am a Cartographer specializing in Geographic Information Systems for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Anchorage, Alaska. Although it is a full-time job, it has fortunately allowed me to continue my volunteer activities, namely as a surveyor and faculty member with the Juneau Icefield Research Program.

My work is an expression of my response to the world around me and the people I meet. I have loved making these images and I hope that you enjoy them. I learned black and white printing, first in the traditional wet darkroom and then in the digital darkroom , whilst living in Alaska. I now work mainly with medium format film and full frame digital cameras. I held several small shows in Anchorage and my work was featured in the local press, the Anchorage Daily News.
