George Kontaxis, Los Angeles based photographer, was born in Athens, Greece. His interest in photography began when he was a teenager as one of his hobbies among others. At age 18 his studies got him to Royal Holloway University in London where he got a bachelors degree in Management. During the 3 years of his studies in London he pursued photography with even greater interest than before and with his talent and hard work managed to turn his hobby into a proffesion. After working between Europe and the US for a while, he eventually moved permanently to Los Angeles. For the last 2 years he has been photographing fitness models and athletes such as Monica Brant, Timea Majorova, Raye Hollitt, Sharon Bruneau, Sherry Goggin and many more models that can be seen at his extensive website www.amazonprofiles.com. His work has been featured in numerous national and international fitness magazines, including Musclemag, American Curves, Planet Muscle, M Magazine, Natural Muscle, X-Fitness and more. He has also been published in calendars, art coffee-table books, posters and exhibits in Europe and the US. His latest project in cooperation with male fitness model Rico Elbaz, the 2007 calendar Seduction , features the best of his art images with fitness couples. His work is focused on capturing the beauty of the male or female physique, or a combination of both, in stunning natural locations, creating images that are powerful and inspiring. His style is artistic and elegant and either in color or black and white his images are characterized by his very unique way of capturing the human body. George is travelling around the world extensively capturing more images and working on more projects around his photography.
