Harel Stanton - ethnographical photographer - Israel

Harel Stanton is an ethnographical photographer, professional lecturer and tour-guide living in Israel. Harel s work focuses on rituals, ceremonies, traditions and other ethnic customs that distinguish the dozens of countries he has photographed. His photographs are published on a regular basis in Israel s leading geographical magazines Masa Acher and Masa Olami . In addition to his photographic work Harel also delivers interactive multi-media slide presentations, combining his educational lectures with sound and light shows. His insightful lectures are sensitive explorations of the worlds many rituals and ceremonies. They allow the viewer to journey with him to the crowded streets of Asia, to the canals of Venice, the Holy sites of the Middle East, and the many other brilliantly photographed places. His personal stories and fresh perspectives shed new light on old places. Harel Stanton teaches photography at the Israeli College of Photography in Tel Aviv, and the Masa Acher School of Photography. He also hosts photography workshops in Israel and Europe. Harel Stanton studied photography and art in the Israeli College of Art. He has worked as an independent photojournalist in various daily newspapers but has focused his work more and more on ethnic photography.

Dan Gazit Photo Gallery, Israel

There is a connection between science and art. This proverb has proved with Dan Gazit. While being a scientist in profession he was always drawn to photography as an art. This has started with crude macros and montage photographs taken with his father s old Leika camera and has evolved to the works presented here. Gazit had no formal art education outside a two years course in black and white photography. This turned to be an advantage making it easier to break the convention that ruled this art for quite a while. A short description of his style is presented in Imagination .
