Visited Planet

Visited Planet is a digital image database containing over 6000 photos from over 20 countries. Sections include agriculture food wildlife people landscapes children sport architecture and hiking. Freelance writing and photography also available. Visited Planet has been designed with an intention to fund further travel, promote growth of the database and particularly to aid impoverished people around the world. A percentage of funds raised through image sales goes towards supporting a different indigenous people group, charity or aid organization. These funds are designed to educate, equip and encourage these people; many whom are very generous despite their limited resources and willingly share their food, homes and lives which are documented in photographs on this website.

Find the lost city of the Incas at Maccu Pichu. In February, we put our careers on hold & took off for Beijing, China. 8 Months later, we walked across the U.S.A Mexico border at Arizona. With only a few airline tickets in hand, most of our travels were by train, boat, and of course the ChickenBus. 39 countries across 5 continents. This is our story.

FocusNatura - Nature Photography

The Madeira Archipelago is situated in the Atlantic Ocean between latitude 32 22 20 and 33 7 50 with its longitude between 16 16 30W and 17 16 38 W. The archipelago, discovered by the Portuguese in 1418, is made up of the islands of Madeira, Porto Santo and the uninhabited islands of Selvagens and Desertas. The island of Madeira has a surface area of 459 sq. miles 741km2 - 35 miles long, 13 miles wide . It is 310 miles from the African coast same latitude as Casablanca in Morocco and 620 miles from the European continent, a 1 hour 30 minute flight from Lisbon. Its privileged geographical position and mountainous relief make for a surprisingly mild climate, with very mild average temperatures 22 C in the summer and 16 C in the winter and a moderate level of humidity, resulting in exceptional subtropical features. The seawater temperature is also very mild due to the influence of the warm Gulf current, resulting in averages of 22 C in the summer and 18 in the winter.
