Vancouver technology writer and photographer the duane storey

Writing about one s self is always a bit challenging. Looking at what I wrote nearly a year ago, I don t think it really encompasses that much at all about me. Blogging has sort of been a bittersweet experience for me, one where the lows have thankfully been balanced by more than enough highs. For every bad experience or email I have received, I have seen a lot of kindness and thoughtfulness that I doubt I would have ever seen had I not had a public presence. I have always tried to be as personal as I can on my blog, for at the end of the day, I don t really think I have anything to share that everyone else hasn t already experienced in some capacity or is currently going through something similar. To me, the cost of not writing these types of entries is far greater than the cost of sometimes taking a bit of flack for writing them. And while sometimes I nerd out and spend a few days doing tech or computer related entries, I try to write a few posts from the heart whenever I can. For those who know nothing about me, I m a 30 year old electrical engineer that grew up in a small town. I now call Vancouver, BC, Canada my home, and am fortunate enough to have a nice apartment just a stone s throw away from the Pacific Ocean. In my spare time I am also an aspiring photographer, and have recently been attempting to take that to the next level.
