Deutsche Pressefreiheit im Mittelfeld
Reporter ohne Grenzen (ROG) hat, wie in jedem Jahr, eine Rangliste über den Zustand der Pressefreiheit in den Ländern dieser Erde aufgestellt. Die ersten 20 Ränge besetzen, bis auf Kanada und Neuseeland, europäische Länder. Bei den EU-Ländern nimmt Luxemburg mit Platz eins den besten und Bulgarien (Platz 59) den schlechtesten Rang ein. Der Regierung sei es dort bisher nicht gelungen, Korruption und Gewalt einzudämmen. Journalisten müssen Übergriffe von politischer wie krimineller Seite fürchten, so Reporter ohne Grenzen. Italien (44.) und Spanien (36.) erreichten ebenfalls nur mittelmäßige Wertungen. „Bei Italien ist das derzeitige politische Klima und die mangelnde Sicherheit von Journalisten, die zur Mafia recherchieren, ausschlaggebend.

Several years ago I attended a Photoblog lecture at The Apple Store in Toronto. In attendance were of some of the finest photographers in Toronto. Names like Sam Javanrough, Irina Souki and Payam Rajabi were displaying their photos in a blog style format. With that inspiration I launched my own photoblog called Fotoshift.com with the help from my friend Peter Hammerl in May 2006. Now, over 1 year later, I have over 200 photographs on my site. The photos that I post are a collection of my best images that I take on a daily basis. I try to post a new image daily but some days that just doesn t happen. Most of my images are places or things around my hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. Photography has provided me with a deeper look into the world around me. I hope you enjoy looking at my photography. In September of 2007 Kim Parsell one my regular viewer s and commenter redesigned my Fotoshift.com site and added many new features. A Very Special Thanks goes out to Kim!
