Top U.S. Marine sees shift from Iraq to Afghanistan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The top U.S. Marine officer said on Wednesday he could reduce his 25,000-strong force in the former al Qaeda stronghold of Iraq's Anbar province to reinforce military operations against a growing Taliban threat in Afghanistan.

Der freiberufliche Fotograf Zoriah, war als „embedded Journalist“ lange mit US-Militär-Einheiten im Irak und in Afghanistan unterwegs. Nun wurde er plötzlich „disembedded“. Wenige Stunden nach der Veröffentlichung von Fotos in seinem Blog, forderten die Militärs ihn auf mit dem Fotografieren aufzuhören und seine Speicherkarten zu löschen. Als er sich weigerte, wurde er mit einem Konvoi zurück nach Bagdad gebracht.
