Canadian Photographic Centre - Photographic Course for beginners and advanced photography students in Toronto
http://www.canadianphotographiccentre.com
Photography courses and trips around Scotland the UK and the rest of the World. Welcome to the Colin Prior Photography School. Whether you re an experienced photographer, or are a newcomer to digital photography, our portfolio of tours and workshops offer an innovative way to learn. Our aim is to develop your personal vision by communicating knowledge, expertise and passion, whilst providing clients with an unforgettable experience of wild places. The fusion of art and craft is fundamental to becoming an accomplished photographer. The craft element involves understanding the technical aspects of photography and the creative possibilities, which a camera offers. This would include a knowledge of focal lengths, depth of field and the relationship between shutter speed and aperture. As digital imaging has evolved, photographers must also familiarise themselves with the currency of digital photography, which would include the implications of shooting in RAW or JPEG formats and creating a workflow process. On the art side, photographers must try to develop the ability to read the graphics of a photograph and understanding what it takes to make a good composition. They also must learn to connect to the natural world and to distil their feelings and emotions into images that communicate an empathy with the subject. Consider that we are all surrounded by the same visual information and what accomplished photographers have developed is the unique ability to de-code this information. By recognising, graphics, the juxtaposition of colours, textures or patterns, photographers are able to read the three dimensional world in which we exists by interpreting it into the two dimensional world of photography in a language that is understood universally. Remember, an image doesn t start with the camera it ends there.
