Uwe H. Martin gewinnt den Deutschen Reporterpreis in der Sparte Web-Reportage. Seine Reportage mit dem Titel „Texas Blues" ist nach Ansicht der Jury „eine kompakte Collage von O-Tönen, Fotos und Filmschnipseln, die die erzählerischen Möglichkeiten des Internets hervorragend nutzt.“ Uwe H. Martin berichtet mit eindrucksvollen Fotos und informativen Bewegtbildern über das Arbeitsleben texanischer Baumwollfarmer in Lubbock, Texas. Dort, in der Baumwoll-Hauptstadt der Welt, kämpfen die Farmer mit schwankenden Baumwollpreisen und dem wachsenden Einfluss des Saatgutkonzerns Monsanto. Martin lässt die Farmer ihre Geschichten selbst erzählen.

Amateur camera club. The object of the Dallas Camera Club is the mutual entertainment and education of its members in all forms of amateur photographic art. Any person who is interested in photography and is willing to make freely available to other members of the Dallas Camera Club the results of their photographic experiences, may become a member.The Dallas Camera Club (DCC) was organized in 1934, starting with 52 printmakers meeting twice a month to further their photographic skills. Color slides were added, presumably in the 1950’s. In 2005, digital images were added and combined with slides to create the “projected images” category. Slides were eliminated in 2008, so that the club activities now focus on color prints, monochrome prints and digital projected images.The DCC hosts contests and events including monthly competitions, field trips, workshops, programs of general knowledge and interest, an annual competition with the Fort Worth Camera Club and a club Annual Awards Banquet. The DCC stresses intra-club competition as a learning process. Emphasis is placed on helping the beginner or new member feel at ease, ask questions, learn and participate.

Austin Shutterbug Photography and Camera Club, Texas USA
The Austin Shutterbug Club is the camera and photography club of Austin Texas and its surrounding area. We hold monthly meetings and photo competitions and we also schedule field trips and workshops throughout the year. People of all skill levels are welcome. The Austin Shutterbug Club (ASC) was founded in 1998 as a nonprofit photographic organization. The objective of ASC is to encourage the photographic enthusiast in the enjoyment and improvement of his or her photography. Any person may join ASC by paying and maintaining current annual club dues. The Purpose of the Austin Shutterbug Club shall be to encourage an interest in photography, provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, to provide an enjoyable forum for the development of artistic and technical photographic skills and to promote a healthy spirit through educational programs, exhibition and competition. The club is open to members of all photographic skill levels. The club year mirrors the calendar year running from January through December. All fiscal activities are based upon the club year. Annual club competitions accumulate points during each single club year. Year-end awards are compiled in December and awarded during the annual Christmas Party and Awards Dinner in December

Bay Area Photo Club, Houston Galveston Texas
The Bay Area Photo Club is a non-profit organization of amateur and professional photographers in the Houston/Galveston Bay Area. The club meets three times a month (except December) at The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake (TAACCL) located at 2000 Nasa Pkwy. The first Tuesday of the month is an educational/tutorial session. On the second Tuesday of the month, members bring their work for critique and discussion (also referred as the Honors Program night). The fourth Tuesday of the month is usually a special program where guests come to speak to the club on various topics, a member presents a special topic of interest or the club critiques work from an outside organization such as PSA or GSCCC-member clubs. There is also a bi-monthly newsletter that lists announcements, essays on subjects of photographic interest, buy/sell ads, and other goodies.
