Meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, second floor meeting room) 20 N. Dixie Ave. Cookeville, Tn. (At the corner of N. Dixie and Broad. St). The club has 6 club competitions a year. Three competitions are open and three are based on categories set at the beginning of the year. These competitions are for members only, however, the public is invited to come and view the images and the competition.

Our club members are a mixture of beginning, amateur and professional photographers, with skills ranging from novice to expert. We shoot a wide variety of subjects ranging from portraiture to nature. Each of us wants to learn more, and to share what we have learned about making pictures. Part of the club's mission is to share the talents of its members with organizations that serve the community. This outreach effort is designed to educate the public on the activities of the Brentwood Camera Club while providing valuable photographic services to non-profit and governmental agencies. This effort has resulted in the raising of thousands of dollars for research benefiting orgainzations like the Arthritis Foudation, the Diabetes Association and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to name a few. For non-profit organizaitons, volunteers from the Brentwood Camera Club photograph fund raising events and through the sale of prints to particpates, raise funds to further research and services. The club's Volunteer Coordinator works closely with non-profits to design a program that matches club member talents to the organizations needs. Seminars by Experts: The first Tuesday of each month, the membership meets to share their photography, discuss technical and asethetic concerns and to attend a presentation conducted by an expert in the photography and related businesses. Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to photography of the natural environment. Our motto is: " Sharing the Awareness of Nature thru Photography". We were founded in 1991 and our home base is the Knoxville, TN, area which abounds in superb nature photo opportunities. Our meetings feature highly skilled nature photographers from our region as well as nationally known artists from across the country. In addition, we have numerous field trips and seminars which are free to our more than 150 members. Our annual Salon is in February during which we display our contest entrants' work and award hundreds of dollars in merchandise to our winners.
