Castle Craig Camera Club, Meriden, Connecticut

Competition meetings are the first Tuesday evenings October through May. Each month members submit prints in various categories and sizes (see competition rules). Slides may be submitted in an open category as well as the special monthly category. Ribbons (blue, red and honorable mention) are awarded for the three highest scored photographs in each category.Travelogues or instructional nights are the third Tuesdays; September through May. These evenings might be a slide show from some exotic destination or a local park. Instructions might be about how to take better pictures or the latest information about digital photography. These evening are always a lot of fun and very informative. The CASTLE CRAIG CAMERA CLUB was founded in 1955 as a result of a course in photography which was sponsored by the YMCA of Meriden. Mr. & Mrs. Willis Cone were instrumental in obtaining the services of an instructor for the course and the enthusiasm of the students resulted in an active and ongoing camera club.

A Connecticut organization of individuals and clubs interested in photography. The Connecticut Association of Photographers (CAP) is a state-wide organization for amateur photographers with both clubs and individuals as members. CAP has two meetings per year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. These meetings usually include dinner and a program, though other events may be substituted for one of the dinner meetings. CAP also sponsors field trips and competitions for members and member clubs.CAP publishes a newsletter, The CAPtion, as needed to inform the membership of upcoming events. Members can receive this newsletter either by e-mail or by traditional postal service. Copies of previous newsletters can be downloaded from the Newsletter section of this web site.

Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month at 7pm, and on the second Tuesday at 7:30pm at the Deep River Library, Main Street, Deep River, CT ....... The CVCC, founded in 2001, has a prime directive of encouraging, accommodating, and implementing multiple photographic experiences for our members. Photographers at all levels are welcome. With the overall intent of improving our skills, we believe in sharing information about techniques, equipment, as well as providing mutual support in evaluating our images. In fact, our members share a strong collegiality in the common passion for photography. Ultimately, our goal is to help our members take fine, outstanding photographs. Workshops: Planned sessions concentrating on technical aspects of photography including lighting, digital workflow, and other subjects.

The Canton Camera Club has been serving photography enthusiasts of all ages in the Canton / Collinsville area and neighboring cities since 1953. We are a non-profit organization run by volunteers who all share a love of photography. Our members are mostly “recreational photographers” with a diverse mix of skills and experience. Members have an opportunity to participate in monthly image and print competitions and to take part in quarterly club to club competitions. Our monthly meetings are fun and educational. Images and prints that have been judged are displayed and ribbons are awarded. Select shows are presented at many meetings. During the year the club holds photographic workshops in the field, and digital processing & workflow instructional classes at members homes. Our mission is to cultivate and broaden the photographic interests of its members by exposing them to as wide a mix of photographic styles and techniques as possible. This includes the latest in digital cameras, post processing, workflow, and printing technologies, as well as an abundance of photographic wisdom from senior members willing to share their experiencesOur club provides an oppportunity for members of all ages to "Share, Learn, & Teach", and for social interaction and friendly competition.

The New Haven Camera Club is one of the oldest clubs in Connecticut. We were established in 1911. We are getting close to celebrating our 100th season! We have some special events planned for our Centennial. A camera club is where the learning of photography begins, continues, and never ends. It is one sure way of improving, enjoying, and sharing your hobby. You never belong to a club - You ARE the club. The New Haven Camera Club is recognized as one of the best camera clubs in the state. Over the years the club has won numerous awards in photographic competitions sponsored by the Photographic Society of America, the New England Camera Club Council, and the Connecticut Association of Photographers, with which the New Haven Camera Club is affiliated.The club offers programs to instruct and entertain photographers, regardless of ability level. Competitions allow members to display their photography, receive awards, and hear constructive criticism. Small group workshops allow for instruction in various photographic techniques in an informal setting. Field trips to places with good photographic potential are held periodically. In 2002 the club’s Internet page went live at www.newhavencameraclub.org.
