The Canberra Photographic Society - Australia

The Canberra Photographic Society formed in October 1945. Our aim has always been to promote excellence in photography both as a recreational pursuit and as a serious art form. Most of the email enquiries we receive are about new membership, meeting program, photography courses, exhibitions or requests for commercial product promotions. To receive the quickest response, please send these enquries directly to the addresses listed. If unsure, just send a message to the general contact address and your message will be forwarded to the appropriate person. The aim of the Canberra Photographic Society is to promote excellence in photography both as a recreational pursuit and as a serious art form. The organisation formed in October 1945.We have three meeting nights each month. Once a month, we run a friendly competition among members designed to improve skills. Two meeting nights each month [Feb-Nov] are devoted to workshops and lectures on a wide range of topics of interest. We have a digital projector that we use for competitions, workshops and presentations. Our slide competition has evolved to become a projected image competition. Competitors may only enter digital projections. We have closed off slide entry. We hold at least one exhibition each year, sometimes more.
