dcu04 Italien - Venedig

The purpose of Aerial Visuals is to improve the general awareness of aircraft preservation efforts and to increase knowledge of our shared aviation heritage through the visual media. The person behind the lens of Aerial Visuals is myself, Mike Henniger. I am an Electrical Engineer specializing in Software Engineering, my much enjoyed profession. What I do in my spare time is something else, and I now call it Aerial Visuals . Friends took me to my first air show in 1993. It was certainly interesting with many loud and fast jets. My interest in aviation grew immensely when I went to my second air show, and that show featured warbirds. There was a Lancaster, a B-17, a B-24 and a B-29 there, as well as fighters, trainers and transports. I started reading what ever I could about WWII with an emphasis on the air forces. I also started going to as many air shows as I could.

I have had an interest in military aviation since I was child. My parents would often take me and my sister to our nearest military airfield RAF Valley on Anglesey. Despite an unsuccessful attempt to join the RAF my interest in aviation has continued. My husband Dave also loves aviation so this is a hobby we both share. Two years ago Dave and I joined the Valley Aviation Society see links page . Having joined the society and meeting some great people you know who you are! I was introduced to aviation photography and in particular aircraft flying at low level. In January 2006 I bought my first and current DSLR camera Canon 350D the lens I have used for most of my photographs is the Canon 100-400mm which I absolutely love!

Greg Shelton lives in Collinsville, Oklahoma. His interest in aviation began at an early age watching Borate Bombers in Northern California and listening to his Father s adventures of flying fighters in the U.S. Navy. In 1982, Greg started flying lessons in a J-3 Cub, that he acquired in a trade for a VW Rabbit, but before he finished his pilot s license, he traded it for a Starduster II so he could pursue aerobatics. Greg s next aircraft was an AT-6 project, which he finished in 1987 and has been performing on the air show circuit with it since 1990. Greg has also performed in the YAK-52 and from 1994 to 2003 in the YAK-55M. In 2003, Greg Shelton decided to add a wing walking act to his list of air show performances. He purchased a beautiful 450 Stearman painted in the patriotic colors of red, white, and blue and enlisted the talents of Ashley Battles to walk and ride the wings. Greg and Ashley s routine average 12-15 minutes with Ashley riding on the top wing and walking on the lower wing to ride the javelin while Greg performs heart stopping, low level aerobatics. Greg s solo Stearman act averages 10-12 minutes.
