Joel Truckenbrod - Landscape Photography of the Upper Midwest - Minnesota - Lake Superior - Banning State Park - Cascade River State Park - Tettegouche State Park - Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and More --- Apparently this is the portion of my site where I m supposed to talk about myself in the third person, and blather pretentiously about my photography and accomplishments. The truth is, I simply make photographs because I feel compelled to do so; it s almost as if I have no choice in the matter. I do not have any wild notions of grandeur behind what I do, and I am ultimately interested in creating images that communicate to the general public. After all, the wild places I photograph, are places that belong to all who call this land home . The accessibility of my work is highly intentional. My photographs are primarily made within my home state of Minnesota, a place that I greatly value, and a place that I have only begun to know.

Sixteen years in the Navy and a second career as a business owner interrupted my pursuit of photography and delayed my trip to Africa, but I never completely stopped taking photographs and always enjoyed capturing the beauty nature dishes up for us on a daily basis. I never gave up on my goal of photographing Africa and in 1999 I finally made the journey I promised myself and spent an all too short three weeks in Kenya. I came back from that trip with over 2000 photos on film and realized what a joy it was to be able to capture the beauty of nature and share it with others. I have now set two new goals for myself; first, turn my love of photography into to my third career and second, go back to Africa again, and again, and again.

Dominick Spolitino - Nature Photography-Wildlife Photography-Bird Photography

Out of his love of nature, photography has evolved into a second carreer. His client list is ever evolving, but to date his photographs have been published by clients in many places including Brazil, Germany,France, Australia and here in the US. He also works with Getty Images and exhibits his work in art galleries throughout the northeast. Much of his work is done in the Pocono Catskill region on the NY PA border in the Upper Delaware river system. He also travels to unique locations, such as Aruba, to photograph scenes where different landscape elements come together, like desert and sea. He also does a lot of work in the tidal marshland of the New Jersey coast, especially during the bird migration seasons. His landscape photography is usually done in monochrome and shows the intimate connection that we have to nature by illustrating universal concepts that cross between the impartiality of nature into the realm of subjective human feeling or understanding. Concentrating on smaller scenes, he shows the interactivity of natural elements, and the form and patterns created by motion.
