Simon Kitchin - NORTH WALES Photographs Snowdonia photos and Anglesey images
Images of North Wales photos of Snowdonia photographs of anglesey. I have two main hobbies in life, Photography and Mountain Coastal walking, fortunately interests that combine together well. Many of the photos on the site have been taken during my walks amongst the UK mountains and coastline, in particular the stunning Anglesey Coastal Path & the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, both close to where I live. However, as everyone taking an interest in Landscape Photography soon realises, the lighting provided by sunrise and sunset often produces the most impressive images, as does the low winter sun. Consequently I have spent many early mornings, late nights and cold winter days chasing the light .

David Taylor Landscape & Travel Photography
David Taylor is an award-winning landscape and travel photographer, who was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne. He turned to professional photography full-time in 2006, after 18 years as a graphic artist in the computer games industry. His first big commission involved compiling an exhaustive photographic record of the less beautiful parts of Barcelona underground car parks, office blocks, a prison ... , for the computer games company he had left only months before. He vows at some point to return to that ravishing city, in a bid to do it artistic justice. David s work has taken him all over the world, from the sun-kissed beaches and aqua seas of Zanzibar to the bright chill of the Arctic Circle in the depths of winter. He sees it as a privilege to be able to follow the career he loves while discovering new places and cultures across the globe. But his first love remains the wild countryside and rugged coastline of his home county of Northumberland, which he has photographed extensively. His work from this region has appeared in numerous national magazines, and has been used in publicity materials by local councils and tourism organisations. David s work is also used frequently by the Northumberland National Park Authority in its publicity and marketing materials.

Landscape photos of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales from Dave Lawrance Photography
Landscape photos of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales including panoramic landscape photographs desktop wallpaper and screensavers. Now resident in Kendal, Cumbria, I have been taking landscape photos for over 20 years, mainly of the Yorkshire Dales, but increasingly of The Lake District. Note: This site is in the final stages of a total revamp, and currently only features a small selection of images for testing purposes. More of my images can be found at my old home page: www.first-contact.davelawrance.co.uk or at www.northernlandscape.co.uk I have had work featured in leading UK photographic magazines, I am a contributor to Alamy & UKLandscape on-line image libraries , and recently had a photograph chosen for the prestigious Winter Exposed exhibition at Kew Gardens, London. High quality fine art prints are available of most of the landscape photographs on the site. This site has been totally redesigned, and in addition to the cosmetic changes, the main improvements are in the way the images are stored, with full search functions, as well as a new lightbox feature.

From the Scottish Highlands to the Cornish coast; from the mountains of Snowdonia to the Norfolk Broads: the British natural landscape is as varied as it is beautiful. It is such diversity and beauty that Ian and Sue s photographs explore, celebrate and share. Our passion for photography is a product of the digital age. Neither of us had an interest in photography until we discovered the potential of the digital darkroom back in 2004. Initially this took the form of experimentation in different areas of photography macro and still life, for example but it was our wish to express in photographic form our appreciation of the landscape of East Anglia, a region to which we were at that time relative newcomers, that made us the dedicated landscape photographers we are today. There are probably means of statistically analysing the chances of two partners in a relationship establishing an interest in the same subject at the same time. Judging from the number of photographers we know who express gratitude to their partners for tolerating the photographer s tendency to drive off to distant locations at unsociable hours of the day, those chances are clearly remote; and we would be the first to acknowledge the good fortune that has allowed each of us to exercise a passion shared equally by the other. Quite how these chances have come about is something that neither of us can immediately explain, although the fact that we were both born and brought up in the surroundings of a beautiful, if contrasting, English landscape is undoubtedly a significant contributing factor. Sue was born and brought up in the Lake District while Ian is a Hampshire farmer s son. As a result we are both accustomed to living in the midst of natural beauty, and landscape photography is, in our view, the most articulate way we have to express our love for the natural environment. Just as one partner s enthusiasm for photography has engendered a similar enthusiasm in the other, so our affinity with the British landscape has engendered an eagerness to represent that affinity in photographic form. As our photographic experience develops and grows, so does our respect and affection for the British landscape. When asked, we struggle to identify any disadvantages in the fact that we share a passion for landscape photography. Our enthusiasm is infectious, and our disappointments shared. On location we work together as a team, one pointing out what he or she sees as opportunities or shortcomings to the other. We may work separately at the same location, but there are no secrets , no discovered gems that one conceals from the other. As with our passion for landscape photography, all is shared. We have a great admiration for the work of photographers in other fields wildlife and portrait, for example but after our initial experimentation in such areas as micros and still life, we have never felt any inclination to broaden our scope beyond photographing the landscape. Landscape photography can be immensely frustrating at times - a long journey to a chosen location can end in disappointment as the promised light never materialises. However, the frustrations pale into insignificance beside the rewards which landscape photography can offer. When the conditions come together and the scene through the viewfinder is just as we anticipated it would be; when we have only the natural elements as company, then that one special moment will be cherished long after the memories of the many disappointments have faded away. Rarely an hour passes at weekends when we are not planning our photographic excursions with almost military precision. Ordnance Survey maps will be examined, memory cards formatted and spare batteries charged, lenses and ND filters rigorously cleaned. A regime is followed fastidiously once we arrive in the field. Our two West Highland Terriers will be exercised while we assess the potential of the location. Once exercised and watered, the dogs curl up to sleep in the...

Tony Lilley Photographic Artist - Histon near Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.
Fine Art and Stock Photography of Landscape Abstract Surreal Travel and Still Life by Tony Lilley. My personal work has covered a wide range of still photography in various formats including pinhole photography and black & white film and print processing. I have experimented with motion picture film and digital video including stop frame animation using film and digital camcorders to create short movies, mixing animated plasticene characters and real life events. Saint Ives Bridge Panoramic. Created by 3 separate images stitched together. My photography covers landscape, travel, still life, abstract and artistically constructed images. I regard myself as both a Photographer and Artist who uses photography combined with other media to achieve my vision of a scene. One of my favourite ways of creating an image is to stage the whole thing as a real life set, or if this can t be done, I create individual parts and combine them digitally. I enjoy creating the artwork and models used to build a set scene for my creative images. Many of the objects that I use are old, re-cycled objects found in junk shops etc or just found washed up on the beach and some parts are from scanned materials and objects or from my own drawn artwork on paper. In the real world sets, I build a scene to tell a story, that is shown in some dynamic or animated way. The final image that you see, is produced by a carefully staged series of events that create the final picture. This maybe made up from controlling lighting during exposure and applying movement or smoke etc to the scene before the camera shutter closes. This has to be planned very carefully and is sometimes quite tricky to fit it all in before the shutter closes. I like to experiment with different ways of creating an image to give it a surreal, fantasy appearance and have an air of mystery. Low light and night photography are one of my favourite ways of creating an atmospheric picture and I enjoy experimenting with a wide range of light sources to create different atmospheres. I have found that the quality and character of light used in a scene is as important as the subject and in some cases more important.

Compass Rose Photography - Redruth - Cornwall UK
This site features the work of the Photographic Artist Jenny Leathes MA, ARPS. Many of the photographs on this site explore the Cornish landscapes and the natural features within them, indeed the Cornish landscapes and Dartmoor continue to be major sources of inspirational images. Jenny was born in Hampshire in 1960. She has lived in Cornwall for 20 years. She is passionate about the Cornish landscape, especially the wild and lonely places. Originally trained as a potter, she now works part time as a youth worker and a self employed photographic artist and publisher. Her own experiences are at the core of the photographic work she produces. Jenny is a qualified mountain leader and offshore yachtmaster. She has the skills required to work in and enjoy visiting various environments. Her interests have fed her desire to be creative, by producing photographic images. The moors, mountains, the cliffs and sea are very important to Jenny and are a constant source of inspiration. Walking and sailing are part of her life. She owns a classic 25 wooden boat and is fascinated by the older craft that still sail and race off the coast of Cornwall and elsewhere. Jenny is happy to produce boat images on commission, working in colour or black and white. Currently Jenny is exploring the land in her own personal way. She focuses on documenting subjects in the landscape in a way that reveals their history, their links with humanity and the effects of the natural elements. Her first book, GraniteLand, is now published, having completed a project about the granite found along an ancient track, the Tinner s Way, in West Cornwall. The Cornish landscape and Dartmoor continue to be major sources of inspirational images. Her book GraniteLand is available on this site; all her photographs are available here in limited editions of five, produced using archival materials to ensure top quality images with a long life. Jenny is an active member of the Royal Photographic Society, and has gained an Associateship. In 2004 she gained a Master of Arts in Photography: Critical Practice, from Falmouth College of Arts. She has had a number of solo and group exhibitions in the Westcountry.
