Juan Silva, Caracas - Venezuela

Juan Silva was born in December 29, 1959 in Caracas, Venezuela. However he was raised in a small town in the state of Lara called Carora. In the year 1980 he gets an scholarship to study Graphic Design in the California College of Arts and Crafts CCAC . In the year 1985 he obtains his BFA as a Graphic Designer and goes back to Venezuela where he works for 5 years as a Graphic Designer and Art Director. Having photography as a hobby he attends in the year 1989 to the Art Kane photography workshop in Cape May, New Jersey. In the year 1990 he makes a stop in his Graphic Design career to dedicate himself to his passionate hobby, Photography, showing his graphic influence in his work, like in the composition and color of his photographs. From that year to the year 2000, Juan Silva specialized in location photography of Industry, Corporate, Landscaping, Travel, Advertising and Architecture. He wins in four opportunities the first, second and third place as well as honorable mentions for the MARAVEN conservationist photography competitions. Also, he gets an honorable mention in the GEOMUNDO magazine competition.
