Washington Camera Club

Washington Camera Club

If you want to learn Photography, then the best advice would be to join a local evening class at a local college. However, you can still learn by joining our Club, but it is a much more long term learning curve. Our aim is to allow members to ENJOY the hobby of photography without the pressures that can be involved in a College course. The learning comes from listening to our visiting Lecturers and Judges and also by asking the questions that are applicable to YOUR problems. We take great pride in the friendliness the Club offers to any prospective new member and you can visit the club for free, for four weeks, before being asked if you wish to join.

Mearns Camera Club

Mearns Camera Club

Located on the North East of Scotland, to the south of Aberdeen, the Howe of the Mearns spreads from south of Stonehaven to above Brechin and from the Grampian Mountains until the Garvock Hill stops it from reaching the sea. Through this area the Romans came and are reported to have described Mearnsmen, a troublesome and warlike race! The Mearns Camera Club takes its name from this now fertile and prosperous area although the bounds of our membership spread outside the definition of the area given above, stretching up almost to Aberdeen and south to Forfar, and with the sea playing a significant part in our lives and our photography. In fact, the picture on our home page is of Dunnotar Castle, an iconic fortress on its own promontory thrusting into the North Sea some 2 miles south of Stonehaven.
