Photographs from 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, South America, and North America. As you can probably tell, traveling is an obsession that has been with me from a young age. Through determination and liquidation of all of my savings, I have been fortunate enough to visit over 40 countries. These experiences have had a tremendous impact on my view of the world, and I hope to find a way to use my outlook to impact others. While traveling is a lot of fun, it can also be both traumatic and enlightening. The range of feelings that one goes through depends on the country, time, and circumstance. You only control half of the experience. If my travel book has done anything to inspire you to travel to a new place, then it has been successful. What is Harry Travels? It is a site meant to present my travels around the world. For each country I have visited there is an individual page with my impressions from the place and a few pictures from my stay there. The intention is not to be tiring so in most cases the texts are short a maximum of 300 words with a few exceptions only so they can be easily read and can give a general impression of what I believe. It took me a while to decide whether I should be politically correct or not, but in the end I opted against this this is a personal site, so all opinions here are my own, and I hope nobody is offended. Obviously I like some countries more than others and this is purely subjective indeed. All criticisms are more than welcome. There is a section under personals called E-75 after the highway linking Athens to Gdansk; this section gives more attention to some of my favourite cities. And Harry s rankings does give my own impression of the countries I have visited, from my favourite to my worst. This has changed overtime as is as dynamic as ever. Every new visit may reshape impressions and thus change rankings. My aim has been to visit all the independent countries in the world. There are other people out there who have done it, I often wonder just how many. I am only considering independent countries here, and the moment this text is written there are 194 independent countries in the world. Territories belonging to countries can be found under the respective county for example Puerto Rico under USA, Netherland Antilles under Netherlands and so on. Russia has also been split into two on the map as its territory spans such a big portion of the globe. Under the first rubric, personal along with this introduction, the E-75 and the ranking sections, you will find a more personal section with pictures of many people who have been important in my life, as well a section with news which I hope to update every two months or so with the latest exploits from my travels....

Christel s Reise- und Fotowelt

Ich bin im goldenen Oktober des Jahres 1960 in Westfalen geboren; in einem Städtchen, das nur Insider kennen und wohl schnell vergessen werden. Aber es liegt nur 20 km von Münster entfernt, wo ich etliche Jahre gelebt und gearbeitet habe. 1989 verschlug es mich in Richtung Frankfurt. Meine Hobbys - was nicht schwer zu erkennen ist - sind Fotografieren und Reisen. Und wenn dann noch etwas Zeit bleibt, greife ich auch gerne zu einem Buch.
