dcu04 Italien - Venedig

UK Warbirds - Your guide to airworthy warbirds in the UK
This site covers historic piston engined aircraft mainly from WWII, but including aircraft from WWI, interwar years and early post war era. In the UK we have flying examples of veteran warbirds such as the Sopwith Pup, through numerous WWII types, and post war types such as the Skyraider and Sea Fury. These machines all provide the public with a chance to engage with our past, and aviation heritage. On this site you will find aircraft histories, news about UK air displays and when they are taking place, and a complete run down of warbird operators and owners.

The first post war production aircraft produced by the Rinaldo Piaggio Aircraft Company in Genoa, Italy, was the P136 amphibious aircraft. The P-136 featured a high gull wing and backward facing engines, the high wing ensuring that the engines and propellers of the amphibian were well above water level when the aircraft was operating from water with a full load, while the rear facing engines and the pusher propellers cut back the noise interference for those sitting in the aircraft. Piaggio s Gull was a tremendous success both at home, where the Italian Air force was the only initial operator, and aboard where a slightly modified version was introduced. The American version was designated the P136 Royal Gull . Approx. 40 of these aircraft were exported to the USA and Canada. While only 65 of these aircraft were produced, Piaggio was working on a successor.

My name is Markus Hass, i m 31 years old and i live in Germany. As you can see on this page, military aviation is one of my favorite hobbies and it starts getting a bit more then that . How i came to military aviation? My Dad was based at Ramstein AB for 3 years at the end of the 60 s. I was 3 years old when he took me the first time to the Ramstein Airshow. And that was where it all started. As i live only 50 km away from Ramstein AB i have been there and at the Sembach airshow every year. Because of the Frecce Tricolori accident at Ramstein 1988 i stoped visiting airshows for some years. I restarted with the International Air Tattoo at Fairford in 1991 I visit the Air Tattoo every year since 91 . I also visited the airshows at Le Bourget, Farnborough and the ILA in Berlin some times but got not happy with them. The airshows i realy like are the Mildenhall Air Fete and the Royal International Air Tattoo. Most pictures on this Website are taken there.
