Nature Photography Nature Pictures Nature Animals Flowers Birds Avian Landscapes - Throughout the years my interest in photography expanded to include 35 mm SLR work with emphasis in travel and animal images. I usually shot slides and printed enlargements in my own darkroom using the CibaCrome process. During the 80s and 90s my wife and I were avid scuba divers and underwater photography dominated our efforts. Recently, scuba diving has taken a back seat to other types of travel and serious nature photography of the above water persuasion. In 2003 the darkroom and film system was sold as I made the complete transition to digital photography using Canon professional equipment. I really like the flexibility and control that digital imaging provides.

Bengal Tiger, Other Mammals and Birds. - In 1994, whilst in the Indian Jungle looking for big game, a chance meeting with a group of Smooth Coated Otters was to change my life forever. I decided I had to see more otters and knew that England and Scotland was going to be a lot nearer than India although little did I know how challenging! I was a complete novice when it came to trying to find otters let alone photograph them. Despite many mistakes and near misses I gradually learnt about otters and their habits. Some of these photographs have taken years to get as despite knowing the otters well getting close to them without disturbing them is another matter entirely.

Phil Perry Wildlife Photos- Leopards of Sabi Sands

A Wildlife Photography site featuring Galleries of wildlife Photographs specialising in Leopards and other African Wildlife seen at Sabi Sands private game reserve. I have visited Sabi Sands regularly over the three years. This has enabled me to follow the lives of nine or so leopards consisting of the dominant male, three of his females and their cubs. All these leopards are habituated to the game lodges vehicles and so provide unrivalled opportunities for observing wild leopards behaving naturally. Each leopard is given a name by the rangers and trackers in the park once it reaches adulthood and I have used these names in the photo captions. The galleries also feature the local lion prides as well as other wildlife in the reserve. I was the 1991 winner of British Birds Bird Photograph of the Year competition with a photo of a family of mute swans and runner up in 1992 with a flock of greater flamingos in flight. I have been placed in the top 50 of the Agfa Wildlife & Environment Awards and been highly commended in the BBC Wildlife Photographic Competition. I received two certificates of merit in the 2005 Getaway Fujifilm Wildlife Photo Awards. My photographs have been published in numerous magazines and books through my collection lodged with the UK-based Frank Lane Picture Agency. 60 of my photos have been printed in Southern African Wildlife - A Visitor s Guide by Mike Unwin published by Bradt in 2003.
