In 2000 begon ik met fotografie. Ik volgdecursussen, workshops en bezocht exposities.In 2005 stapte ik over van analoog naardigitaal en startte een foto-website.Gedurende de afgelopen jaren was er eerst de ontdekking hoe veelzijdig fotografie kon zijn.Geleidelijk leerde ik over de boeiende aspectenvan het licht. De magie van het licht.Het is spannend om juist dat ene moment,dat er even is, vast te leggen.Een fantastische uitdaging, steeds weer.De foto's op deze website zijn niet digitaal gemanipuleerd.

Chantal Hovens 1970 graduated the Dutch Photo Academy in Apeldoorn in 1998, specialisations portrait and documentary photography. Before that she completed the social academy and a study in journalism. The influence from these studies is visible in her photography. Chantal Hovens is focussing in her work on mankind and society. She thinks that it s important that within the documentary photography there s enough space for the beauty of the simple site of being. Her work is asking attention for a world that s approached and shown from a optimistic point of view. - Chantal Hovens 1970 studeerde in 1998 af aan de Nederlandse Fotovakschool in Apeldoorn met als specialisaties reportage- en portretfotografie. Eerder voltooide ze de sociale academie en een opleiding in de journalistiek. De invloed van deze opleidingen is in haar fotografie terug te vinden. Chantal Hovens stelt mens en maatschappij centraal in haar werk Zij vindt het belangrijk dat binnen de documentaire fotografie voldoende plaats is voor de schoonheid van de eenvoudige kant van het bestaan. - Chantal Hovens 1970 finissait ces etudes photographique en 1998 l academie photographique de Apeldoorn, sp cialisee en portrait et reportage. Avant elle finissait l academie social et une etude en journalisme. L influence de ces etudes est visible dans cesses images.

Harold Naaijer studied the history of labour movements in Amsterdam. After working for 10 years for trade unions, he switched to fulltime photography in 1998. Following spells working in Valencia Spain and Vienna Austria , he is once again based in Holland. Recently he is doing a project in Lisbon, Portugal. --- Publications: Together with his friend and writer Donald Niedekker, he has published a series of books exploring major European cities: Berlijn, Berlijn , Horizon Marseille , and Liverpool Lovelypool . In May 2003, the duo presented their new book De hemelvaart . Harold Naaijer has shot portraits of immigrants for Het Zaans Museum. These portraits were published in a volume called Zaankanters bestaan niet . For De Willem Drees Stichting, Harold Naaijer was involved in selecting images and took a couple of portraits that have appeared in the book Willem Dreesstichting 40 jaar . Together with the Volkskrant-journalist Jan Keulen, Harold went to Iran and published a book called Weg van God? Iran 20 jaar na de revolutie . For the FNV trade union, Harold and three colleagues produced a photography book on the building and construction workers in Holland. Recently Harold was the cameraman for a documentary about four women who decide to live abroad. He also made a short film called Catwalk , about wild cats living at the seaside.
