Ben Lawrence Photography

Well let me introduce myself. I am an actor, filmmaker, and video editor, currently living in Toronto. I am a selftaught photographer and webdesigner and you, my friend, have stumbled across my photoblog . A place to post none but my favorite photos from the past few years. Hopefully as the site develops, I will be challenged to take on more of the photographic projects that interest me. Including night photography, portraiture, and B&W developing. I shoot all my photos on E6 slide film with my Cannon AE-1, and then scan them with a Cannon 9950 flatbed. So far I have done very little, to no, post processing of my images; preferring to try and catch it all the first time round. Before I try and force a title to the site that doesn t fit, I want to try and post for a few weeks and see how publishing informs my art...because really, this site is for me. ; But if you do like my work, or maybe you don t...either way, please feel free to drop me line with your thoughts and suggestions.

genestho.ca :: make it happen

Genestho : means "make it happen" in ancient Greek. It's actually pronounced y-enestho (as per the Greek embassy has shared with me). As a Discovery channel superfan, I was watching a show on ancient Egypt. They had this whole bit on Cleopatra, which is where I first heard the word. Apparently, genestho is how she used to sign her royal decrees, meaning...

Photoblog

When I started my Photoblog I was using Pixelpost. Spam comments went out of control and there was no real way to stop it. So I’ve decided to transfer my photographs to Wordpress using a photoblog theme. So here I am! Sadly in the process I’ve lost old comments made to my photographs. But hopefully with time I’ll get new ones here! I will post pictures...
