Centurion Camera Club, Pretoria

Centurion Camera Club, Pretoria

Creative photography is about so much more than capturing an image on film. It is about creating an atmosphere, giving the image life beyond the frozen frame. Something that will transcend the stillness of the light and shadows to reach out to the person seeing it to become an experience in itself . The above words, by renowned international wedding photographer Brett Florens, epitomises both the challenge and the beauty of the photographers craft. The innate desire to capture a perfect image, to translate and share special moments frozen in time, but in a timeless manner, is what drives the dedicated photographer ever forward. The Centurion Camera Club endeavours to promote amateur photography and to enhance interest in all subjects related to photography. We have informal lectures, practical demonstrations, photographic outings and evaluate member s work through competitions on a regular basis. Our members participate in all forms of photography, including monochrome prints, colour prints, slides and digital photography. Subjects photographed range from portraiture, visual arts, landscapes, still life, sport, nature etc. Club membership is open to all members of society who subject themselves to the constitution and club rules. Members range from beginners to advanced and master photographers who are always ready to help with advice or in sorting out a problem. New members are always welcome! If you are interested in joining the club, please contact us.
