San Francisco

coitTower04.jpg

After returning from my 6-month stay in New Zealand, I decided to get a place in downtown SF. I've wanted to live in the city (at least temporarily) for several years now, so I decided to try it out. So far, it's been great, and there is no shortage of interesting places to KAP. So far, I've shot aerial photos of Coit Tower, The Palace of Fine Arts, The Marina District, and the Conservatory of Flowers.

New Zealand (Updated 12 Jun 2006)

wai-o-tapu03.jpg

I have been traveling and living in New Zealand for the past five months (with one month left to go before returning home to California). It's a beautiful country with many fine opportunities for KAPing, but I've been focusing mostly on ground-based photography. 12 Jun 2006: Even though I've been home for several months now, it's taken me a long time to post the remaining photos. I've added some new KAP shots, a 360 degree panorama of Castlepoint Lighthouse, and an extensive gallery of ground-based photos.

After The Rain

After the rain, a beautiful rainbow appears across the skies, above the landscape of Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand.

Images Photo Group - Pukekohe

This is a group where photographers of all levels can come along and experience a fun, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere in which to share their enjoyment of photography and further their skills. Our aim is to have an informal discussion environment at all times where anyone can feel free to speak their mind, with supper and coffee continuously available throughout the evening. We have a monthly group get together night, where you are invited to share with other group members your photographic experiences, questions, views, ideas anything really that relates to photography. We have a strong digital photography bias but all photographic work of any kind is welcome. You are invited to bring along two prints and or digital images to share with the group for comment. We also often have an invited guest of some standing in the photography community to offer their input and comments on our work helping us further improve our photography skills and to inspire or develop our creativity.

CPSNZ - Christchurch Photographic Society New Zealand

CPSNZ - Christchurch Photographic Society New Zealand

Meetings are every Wednesday at 8pm, throughout the year from late January to early December. On two evenings each year there is the opportunity to put forward three of your prints and projected images for judging on the night. The aim is for you to see how your photographs fare in an informal manner and it is also an opportunity to see how you compare to other members. Once a month at 7.15pm, prior to the weekly meeting , an experienced member will conduct a workshop. This is followed up two weeks later when members are encouraged to show the results of their efforts after attending the workshop. At least four times a year after a specific workshop the following weekend usually a Sunday there is a field trip workshop. There are a number of tutors assigned to attend the field trip workshops and one-on-one tuition is given to members who attend. These are very popular within the club and members new to photography gain considerable confidence and learn a lot when they attend these trips. Three times a year, several experienced members are available prior to our weekly meeting 7.15pm to informally critique your work. Constructive comments are made and your questions can be answered about how to improve your photography. Each month there is a field trip usually on a Sunday to somewhere reasonably close to Christchurch. These are well attended and are an opportunity to get to know members and learn more from each other in the field
