The British Herpetological Society
The British Herpetological Society is a learned society which undertakes conservation activities to benefit amphibians and reptiles, particularly British indigenous species. The Society is actively engaged in field studies and conservation management, and provides a platform for the open discussion of herpetology for scientists, conservationists and enthusiasts alike. Common frog, Rana temporaria The BHS produces three major publications: The Herpetological Journal contains scientific papers and is distributed quarterly to academic institutions and BHS members. The Herpetological Bulletin publishes articles of general natural history interest, and also contains book reviews and short articles relating to all aspects of herpetology. The NatterJack is the Society s monthly newsletter. It contains a wide range of general interest articles on herpetology, and is available to BHS members only both printed and online format .
