Loke Kun Tan -- Welcome to Loke Kun Tan's Astrophotography website which displays photographic images of celestial objects adorning our night skies. Some of the objects are visible to the naked eye, such as the bright and spectacular Comets Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp. Other objects, such as gaseous nebulae and galaxies, can be extremely faint and are visually evident only in telescopes or through long exposure photography. The following instruments were most commonly used to photograph the objects: a Celestron/Epoch 8" f/1.5 Schmidt camera, a Takahashi FSQ-106 refractor, a Takahashi E210, and an RCOS Ritchey-Chretien 12.5" F/9 scope. These astrographs were mounted on an Astro-Physics 1200 mount or a Bisque Paramount ME mount. Both these mounts are motor-driven and enable the astrograph to track the object while it traverses the night sky.
