Southern Studios represents the highest level of photography available in New Zealand today. Founded by Multi Award winning photographer Bruce Jackson, His clientelle includes Fashion Quarterly, Air New Zealand, Ford, Nissan, Toyota and the All Blacks. Bruce has been commissioned to photograph several Prime ministers and heads of states including Bill Clinton, Jim Bolger, Helen Clarke and the late David Lange. Bruce welcomes overseas commissions and has photographed in many countries. He has spent many years refining his craft. His photographic style has its roots in his deep passion for the sea and his love of people. The imagery he has captured around New Zealand and the world are beautiful and impassioned. Bruce now specializes in weddings portraits. At some point I discovered photographing people and my emphasis in photography shifted. I still do seascapes but peoplescapes dominate my imagery now. You can t study photography good photography comes from the heart. I enjoy Weddings and Portraiture because it allows me to call on my previous experience in still life, fashion, photo journalism and beauty photography. The reward for me is capturing the emotion of the moment and showing people images of themselves that they may never have contemplated or realized possible.
