HDR Photography adventures in high dynamic range & other image alchemy

I began my adventures in photography in August 2005 when I stepped up from a point-and-shoot digital camera to my first digital SLR, the amazing Nikon D70. Since then it has become something of an obsession. My plan for this blog is to share my work as I learn and grow in experience. I m finally at the point where I feel pretty comfortable with the mechanics of my camera, so the goal for the next year is to begin experimenting with technique and style. My images to-date have been pretty typical well, okay, cliche. That will change. At present my interest seems to be in maybe a little overcooked COLOR and high dynamic range. What can I say? I m in a phase. Next up I want to attempt a 180. I m falling in love with moody, desaturated imagery. My neutral density filters are in-transit as we speak! Stay tuned The broad strokes: In my professional life, I ve gone from graphic design to web design to internet marketing. My very brief foray into photography has enabled me to reconnect with the deep love and reverence for nature that I had as a child. I ve been lucky enough to travel a bit in the last year, and my camera is my constant companion. In the last year I ve focused on learning the basics, but in the coming months and years I hope to begin to impart some of my personal vision into my images. Where that will ultimately lead me is unclear at this point, but isn t that the point of any journey of discovery?
