This site features the work of the Photographic Artist Jenny Leathes MA, ARPS. Many of the photographs on this site explore the Cornish landscapes and the natural features within them, indeed the Cornish landscapes and Dartmoor continue to be major sources of inspirational images. Jenny was born in Hampshire in 1960. She has lived in Cornwall for 20 years. She is passionate about the Cornish landscape, especially the wild and lonely places. Originally trained as a potter, she now works part time as a youth worker and a self employed photographic artist and publisher. Her own experiences are at the core of the photographic work she produces. Jenny is a qualified mountain leader and offshore yachtmaster. She has the skills required to work in and enjoy visiting various environments. Her interests have fed her desire to be creative, by producing photographic images. The moors, mountains, the cliffs and sea are very important to Jenny and are a constant source of inspiration. Walking and sailing are part of her life. She owns a classic 25 wooden boat and is fascinated by the older craft that still sail and race off the coast of Cornwall and elsewhere. Jenny is happy to produce boat images on commission, working in colour or black and white. Currently Jenny is exploring the land in her own personal way. She focuses on documenting subjects in the landscape in a way that reveals their history, their links with humanity and the effects of the natural elements. Her first book,...
