A series of events featuring VR panoramas from around the world. Part of the Geo-Images Project University of California Berkeley. The World Wide Panorama began in March 2004 and has become an ongoing series of events. Photography takes place on the solstices (longest and shortest days of the year) and equinoxes (day and night of equal length). Photographers all over the world are welcome to participate.A VR panorama (VR for virtual reality) is a specially created computer image that goes all the way around the viewer. It is a revolutionary way to document a particular place and time – the next best thing to being there.VR panoramas are interactive.Use the mouse to rotate the panorama, use Shift and Control to zoom in and out. .... Das World Wide Panorama wurde im März 2004 zum ersten Mal veranstaltet und hat sich zu einer laufenden Serie entwickelt. Fotografiert wird jeweils zur Sonnenwende (kürzester und längster Tag des Jahres) und zur Tag-und-Nachtgleiche. Fotografen aus der ganzen Welt sind herzlich eingeladen, daran teilzunehmen.Ein VR Panorama (VR für Virtuelle Realität) ist ein im Computer aus mehreren Fotografien erzeugtes Bild, das sich rund um den Betrachter erstreckt.
