Born to English parents in Louisiana, JEREMY GRAY grew up in an environment steeped in contrasts - steamy bayous, racial tensions and fossil-fuel millionaires. Since leaving the United States on a university scholarship he has lived in Britain, the Netherlands and Germany, gathering years of field experience as a travel author, journalist, photographer and documentary filmmaker. He now lives in a former butter factory in Berlin.
