Paisley Photographic Society - Scotland

Our club, the oldest in Scotland, was founded in 1857 and ever since then we have met every Friday evening at 7.30pm in our clubrooms at Oakshaw Street. Our year commences the first Friday of September. The club is exceptional in that we embrace every aspect of Photography from Black and White, Colour, Prints, Slides and Digital work. As a member you would have access to all our facilities seven days a week which include fully equipped Darkrooms, Studio, Digital Room and Reading room with library of Books, Magazines and Videos. For a modest charge you can hire the Studio or Digital Lab or our Home Studio Lighting pack. We offer classes for beginners in all branches of Photography and offer a varied and exciting programme of formal activities including Competitions, Studio Nights, and Lectures from September to April, with informal meetings and outings during the summer period.

Eugene Atget 1857-1927

The photographs displayed here are the result of an ongoing project begun by students in the first Paris program group in 1987, the rephotography of sites photographed by the French photographer Eugene Atget who, between 1900 and 1926, made approximate 6,000 photographs of Paris. Using reproductions of Atget s photographs, students attempted to locate his tripod holes and to replicate the exact view and framing of his original scene.

Vie Ferrate - Vie Ferrate in Italia

sito italiano di riferimento di vie ferrate e sentieri attrezzati. Soltanto nel 1869 la storia dell alpinismo registra la costruzione delle prime vie ferrate ad alta quota e precisamente sulla famosa cresta sudoccidentale del Grobglockner sul valico del Glockner.Quest opera di pionieri d alpinismo allora ascritta come strutturazione di una nuova via,adatta anche per scalatori non esperti, grazie all ausilio di chiodi di ferro e funi metalliche pu essere considerata oggi l inizio della costruzione delle ferrate.Sempre nel 1869 inizi la costruzione della Via Studl da parte di Thomas,Rupert e Michel Groder che lavorarono intensamente per quasi 2 mesi,tesero 400 metri di funi metalliche,piantarono chiodi di ferro,predisposero gradini,ect..Il 5 agosto la via venne inaugurata ma nonostante gli appoggi rimaneva,tuttavia,un ardua scalata che spesso veniva volentieri evitata per percorrere la vecchia Via Kalser.Poco tempo dopo per ,i fulmini e il peso della neve devastarono le funi metalliche a tal punto che la via torn ad essere difficoltosa come allo stato originario.L iniziatore fu comunque Johann Studl 1839-1925 uno dei pi grandi pionieri alpini ed esploratore dell area del Glockner;purtroppo della via ferrata sulla cresta del monte che prende il suo nome,il Sudl,oggi non ne rimane che un frammento.Nel 1832 per con molta probabilit venne scalato per la prima volta il monte Dachstein 2996mt ,il luogo storico della messa a punto della prima via ferrata.Il grande esploratore del...
