I m a native of Mississippi, although it s hard to explain which part. I spent my youth in Raymond. In 1999, I moved to Brookhaven, which is where my parents still are, and is what I call my hometown. It was there I began my career in photojournalism at the Daily Leader newspaper, where I spent several years. I began winning statewide awards in photography early on; it was then I knew I was doing what I was meant to. I was fortunate to be involved in the America 24 7 project in 2003, and my photos were published in two books: Mississippi 24 7 and Louisiana 24 7. In 2005, I moved to Hattiesburg and began working for the larger Hattiesburg American. It was at that paper I broadened my skills to include multimedia. My covering Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath was featured in the 2005 DVD and book Katrina: Devastation, Survival, Restoration. I still live in Hattiesburg today, and now I offer my experience and photography skills for service to you in a unique way. Mark Hemmings is a fashion, travel, and fine art photographer based in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. In addition to working internationally for commercial clients, Mark also teaches photography and film in Europe and Asia. Past trips have included London, Mexico, South Korea, Hungary, and Japan. Mark's experience in Japan is extensive; he lived in Nagano for a year working for a Tokyo based photography agency. I am in the models photography since more than 6 years now. My only aim is to take pleasure and, if possible, give pleasure to the spectator. I have a perfectionist way in everything that I do, as well during the shooting than on the processing of the pictures. Thus I have learned to use Photoshop and with a bit of experience I manage to carry the rework that I desire. I am currently using a Canon EOS 5D with a 50 1.4 or a macro objective, that I particularly like. In fact, I have began to take interest in photography young, around 10 I think. At this time, I was using my father s SLR, a Minolta all manual. Of course, I was taking photos during family meetings. I had also joined a photo club were I was performing black and white developments. For me, all that has allowed me to develop my eye and my interest. Much later, I have had my own camera an EOS 5, that I have kept a number of years. It is through the compliments of a friend on my pictures that I have decided to really get involved in portraits and nudes. I have then changed my camera for a EOS 1N-RS, a solid professional SLR and since 1 year I shoot in digital with the 5D. I have had the chance to show my work at several exhibitions in Nancy and Paris and in a few publications in photography magazines and in newspapers. I live since one year in Athlone, a town in the centre of Ireland. My photographic activity has changed owing the difficulty to find models in the surroundings.
